Mantras For Your Monday

Mantras For Your Monday

It's that time again - the coffee binging, the baggy eyes, the making sure you put on pants this morning before your big sales pitch.

Ah, Monday.

Technically, I have less of these things to worry about since we work from our home offices. Nonetheless, I still feel the Mondays just like everyone else.

I can't offer you a quick ticket to Friday, but instead, here are a few Stone Table design and business mantras to help jump start your week:

“If you’re struggling to explain your concept, stop explaining and start revising.”
“Think of onboarding as your first date. Be polite, honest, and make sure to impress the hell out of them.”
“Don’t be afraid to turn down work. Your portfolio and patience will thank you in the long run.”
“Put your design to the test. Share mocks or links without explanations.”
“The new MVP - Minimum Viable PROCESS. Your product only moves as quickly and efficiently as you do. “
“Don’t use coachmarks as bandaids for bad user experience.”
“People don’t read. When it comes to your app, minimize text and maximize ease.”
“Minor UX changes can impact your product more than you know. Be wary of franken-products.”
“Don’t let forward thinking take your product backward.”
“An engaged user is a happy user, and thus a returning user.”
“Design so hard your grandma could use your product.”
“Typography on mobile: when in doubt, go bigger.”
“Never sacrifice the time and effort needed to create a killer prototype. It’s always worth it.”
“If your laziest users are happy, you’re doing something right.”
“Bootstrapping: challenging your revenue model from day one.”
“Good design encourages the user. Great design leads the user.”
“Sometimes the best move for your users isn’t the best move for your company.”
